WHAT THEHEEBEE SAYS :
As it is said – ‘Biryani was introduced to India from Persia and then Indians made it World Famous’!; so it has to top the list of ‘favorites’ by Indians and it does it with all the pride.
India has various different varieties of biryani – Kashmiri, Awadhi, Bengali, Hyderabadi etc. Among all these, Hyderabadi Biryani is most famous in Southern states of India, particularly in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Bengalurians are a great Biryani lovers and Paradise has added their latest – 4th hotel in the city at New BEL Road to cater to Biryani lovers.
On the occasion of 18th Food Bloggers Association, Bangalore (FBAB) meetup, we all were invited by Paradise management to enjoy their scrumptious offerings.
AT THE FIRST STEP :
It is always very informative when someone from the host team interacts enthusiastically during the visit. This helps is getting a lot of information about the food, process, hygiene and operations part. It was a privilege that corporate Chef Vijay Anand Bakshi was himself available to interact with us. He interacted with us enthusiastically and answered a lot of our queries. It helped us understand that how much hard work and coordination goes to meet the aim of constantly serving delicious biryani to people.
The place is located at a prominent location. Valet parking is available. It is a very spacious setup. Even their take-away section is as big as a darshini. Wooden furniture and welcoming staff. The Frist Step vibes were great.
THINGS WORTH KNOWING :
Paradise started serving biryani in Hyderabad sine 1953 and continued in Hyderabad for a long period before they started serving it to other cities. Paradise opened their first Bangalore outlet in Indiranagar, followed by Frazer Town, Koramangala and now at New BEL Road.
There are two dining sections – one ground floor and one on first floor. There is a big separate take-away section. The place was very clean and tidy. It is very spacious and enough space is left between tables. Dark wooden furniture with nice cutlery. Walls were giving a different charm as they had put up a lot of old Hyderabad pictures on it. A big wall showing their celebrity customers was quite interesting.
Food was very delicious. From starters till desserts majority of the dishes created a ‘wow’ feeling. Servings were of ample quantity. Presentation was very decent. Taste was very well balanced. Biryani was the jewel!
Veg Starters :
Tandoori Paneer Tikka : Perfectly marinated paneer cooked gently over the fire. It came out to be a lovely starter. Was served with mint chutney.
Paneer 65 : Very tender paneer. Tossed in spices and curry leaves. Served with tomato sauce.
Veg Platter : A mix of various starters. This gave a very clear picture about their expertise with different cuisine.
Veg Mungfali Seek Kabab : This was quite an innovation. Peanuts took the otherwise normal veg seek kabab to a different level. Very well roasted. Again served with mint chutney.
Non-Veg Starters :
Apolo Fish : Its a Chef’s specialty which was liked by everyone in the group. Very tender boneless fish pieces, coated with batter and fried. Spiced mildly. Was melting in mouth.
Chilli Chicken : Soft chicken pieces cooked the Chinese way. Need to say that this was again a testimony of their expertise outside Indian cuisine.
Mutton Seek Kabab : Very well roasted. A must have for anyone who likes a strong flavored Mutton Seek Kabab.
Tulsi Murg Tikka : This was quite an innovation. Very juicy chicken pieces marinated along with tulsi leaves. Cooked on tandoor and served with mint chutney. Another ‘wow’ thing from the menu.
World’s favorite Biryani :
And then came the ultimate moment to try their world famous biryani. Paradise serves Chicken Biryani, Mutton Biryani and Veg Biryani. No doubt these are among the best biryani that we have ever ate. Both the non-veg biryani had very well cooked rice with lovely flavors and fragrance. There were three kind of rice layers – white, mildly spiced – yellow and more spiced – brown. Underneath the rice was well cooked, well marinated, well spiced soft and juicy meat. Non-veg food lovers splurged on it. Veg biryani was full of flavors and doing a complete justice to biryani.
All the biryani are served with Mirchi Ka Salan, Spiced Raita and Onions.
THEHEEBEE highly recommends all biryani lovers to try Paradise biryani. Its completely out of the world experience.
Falooda : This was brilliant. Rose syrup was just up to the quantity – neither less nor more. This is a biggest challenge with falooda as little less or more of syrup can create a disaster. It just came out to be a ‘wow’ dessert.
Double Ka Meetha : This is a traditional Hyderabadi dessert made out of bread. Bread is called ‘Double Roti’ in some communities and hence the name. It was sweet with an extra flavor of Cinnamon and Cardamom.
Kubani Ka Meetha : This is another traditional Hyderbadi dessert made out of Apricots. Special cooks called ‘Ustaads’ carry on the tradition of making perfect Kubani Ka Meetha. Recipe and process is inherited within the family. This was one of the sweetest thing we had ever tasted. A must try after Biryani.
Hot Gajar Ka Halwa and Gulab Jamuns : These were up to expectation. Served hot. It can be a good idea to have a scoop of vanilla ice-cream on top.
We observed that they have enough of work force across the stack. Starting from the junior folks till the senior ones. Everyone was well trained and were paying attention to all the guests. Senior staff was very well aware of the dishes, texture, flavor etc. Tables were cleaned regularly and water was refilled on time.
Meal for two will cost anything between 600 to 800 Rs.
Overall it was a great experience. Will definitely plan to treat our guests at Paradise!
