WHAT THEHEEBEE SAYS:
Sree Krishna Kafe is a very popular place in Koramangala for authentic Tamil style food, particularly snacks like Idli, Pongal, Dosa etc.
We were introduced to this joint around 9 yrs back by a friend. Since then it has become one of our favorite ‘adda’ and we visit it frequently for breakfast.
Our recent visit was with some amazing Food Lovers of the popular Facebook group ‘Foodies Den‘. Everyone relished the food and cherished this meetup. Few of them had known about it but never visited, they were very grateful to be part of this meetup. For others, it turned out to be a treasure.
LOCATION AND AMBIANCE:
Sree Krishna Kafe is located on the busy F&B stretch at Koramangala 5th Block. It is located on the first floor and holds a very humble ambiance. There is a narrow staircase that takes to the first floor where it is located. Interiors are again old style and humble. Nothing fancy about it. But don’t go on this ambiance impression, Just within few hours the place gets jam packed and you will find people from all walks of life happily waiting for their turn at the table. The taste and authenticity of the food are what creates a huge fan following at Sree Krishna Kafe.
WHAT THEHEEBEE HAD:
How can someone miss Pongal at a popular Tamil joint? So we started with Pongal-Vada. And we highly recommend everyone not to miss Pongal-Vada at Sree Krishna Kafe.
Masala Dosa was another bliss with all the accompaniments of three chutney and delicious sambar.
Idli is another popular dish at Sree Krishna Kafe and hence our next order was Idli-Vada. Soft fluffy steaming hot idli with crispy Medu Vada on a Sunday morning is another bliss. Don’t miss it.
By this time, the staff got to know that we were a bunch of food lovers and hence they started suggesting us some of the specialties that we should try. They suggested us different dishes like Paneer Dosa, Corn Dosa, Idiappam etc. Our next bet was on Idappam served with fresh Coconut Milk and Kurma.
Next, we tried Onion Rava Dosa. It was delicious, crisp and flavorful. One best part about it was that it was not at all oily.
How can one end a South Indian breakfast without Rava Kesari? Another brilliant dish at Sree Krishna Kafe. This is a must have for those who have a sweet tooth. However, it’s not for the ‘calorie conscious’ folks. Be prepared to stuff yourself with lots of pure ghee and sugar.
We called it an end with delicious strong Filter Coffee.
SERVICE: Service is very good at Sree Krishna Kafe. One team takes orders and serves it. While another team is prompt in clearing the plates and cleaning the tables. They are trained for a rapid service to handle the rush.
